I wish there were more stars to give! I've been taking my Honda to them since I got it 15 years ago. So at 15 years old, there are a lot of things that could go wrong.Yesterday, I was on the freeway, and there were some really terrible sounds coming from the rear of the car, especially when I was braking. So I had it towed to them, about 15 miles. Before it was towed, the tow driver inspected it and determined that it needed a flatbed truck, so it was really something serious. He said it might be a rear axle or bearing. All I saw was dollar signs fully expecting that the repair was going to be hundreds if not over $1000.Anyway, SM Motors inspected it, and it turned out that a rock had gotten in something somewhere, and it cost only $73!!! They could easily have told me something else was wrong and charged me a LOT more. I was never so happy to pay $73 in my life.This is not the only time that they have been more than accommodating, and I really can't thank them enough. My next car will be a Honda because I know I have found an honest repair service.

I appreciate that since I was coming back after just having been there I was given priority treatment--all staff is professional and helpful and Don is very good at explaining things!! I feel like he's being honest and trying to help me make decisions and that's important.

Santa Monica Motors is great! I went for a routine smog and did intend on going to another place, however I am happy that I stopped here. Bob was very friendly and he even took time to explain to me what everything on my passed test meant. They also have a very clean indoor and outdoor waiting area. I'll be back.

My service experience was great. They were fast efficient, left my car clean and ready to drive off. Passed my inspection, just barely, and they gave me direction as to what to expect inthe next inspection.

When I brought my car in for a smog check, the waiting line was out the door. The owner offered me an additional discount for my time and asked if I would come back the next day. The thoughtfulness of an additional discount made my decision to return the next day easy.

I'm the person who always go over the reviews on Yelp before paying for something. SM Smog Check had a very good review on the website and I decided to pick this location. I was the first in the queue and 0 minute waiting. However, it takes about half an hour to check and go over the car stuffs. Bob is a nice guy and explain things how to dealing with the registration. I will definitely come back for the outstanding business place like this.
