All I can say is that I am so happy that I found Don at Santa Monica Motors. What an amazing, thoughtful, and above all HONEST SHOP! I was having issues with my CRV and freaking out that it was going to be horrible news when I finally made my appointment. Don greeted me and explained what was going to be done and that he would call with an update around lunch. Well luck and Don was on my side. Turns out my transmission was going out and would cost over $3500 to fix. HOWEVER, Don had made a call to the dealer because they work extensively on Honda's (and he knows his stuff about them, you can tell that talking to him) and found out that there is an extended warranty on my CRV and it would be covered. How many shops would have done that for a customer. Let alone a NEW customer. It would have been so easy for them to sell me a new transmission and I would have been none the wiser, however ethics and morals play a huge roll with the owner Don. I will forever come here from now on, refer everyone I know, and be forever indebted to this shop, especially Don. Amazing Shop, Amazing Owner. You will always be my mechanic from now on, THANK YOU!!!

Don and Ray and the whole shop continue to exceed my expectations. Honest work, fairly priced and great follow up. Best shop I know.

Great service, quality help

Ray and Don were pros at customer service. I brought my '97 Camry in the morning I called for an appointment. I'd previously been told I needed to replace the catalytic converter in order to pass my smog test. Within a few hours, I had my car back, my smog check passed, and hundreds of dollars saved. They figured out the actual issue and although they knew about the previous "diagnosis", didn't try to scam me for a part that wasn't required. Plus, they were very nice about offering rides. A+. I hope I don't have to go back, but know where to go if I do.

Awesome job! Don in particular is the very best, coolest, and most honest mechanic I've dealt with. This place is great.

I've been going here for four years to keep my 1991 Integra with 225K miles running. Don and Ray have been fantastic. Honest, straight up and professional. They expertly keep my car running and always stand behind the work. A quickie oil joint chopped the oil pan plug and caused a weird drip from the pan. Don fixed it for Free! Good guys and great work. very happy.

Don is who you want in your corner. He went beyond his job: he called me on his own time to follow up, he researched, he reached out to colleagues of his to find the most affordable way for me to fix my car, and he's a pleasure to work with. It's nice to know I have "my" mechanic on the westside. This job has won my loyalty for life.
