Don is awesome! By far the most honest, straightforward, and generous mechanic I have ever met. When so many mechanics are dodgy, it's really refreshing to come across someone like Don. He's extremely genuine and honest.

As good as it gets. My car was making a funky, noisy sound, so I took it in for the guys at Santa Monica Motors to inspect so they could tell me what the next steps are. I was working with Don, and he had all the qualities you would want in a good mechanic (honest, knowledgeable, and kind). Before pricing me out for the repairs, Don called my car's manufacturer to see if this particular issue was under warranty --- which was nice of him to do and could have potentially saved me a lot of money. While I can't yet speak to the workmanship of this shop (they haven't done anything for my car just yet), I can definitely say that I'm extremely satisfied with Santa Monica Motors' service and people thus far. I plan on taking my car there for any future repairs/service work, and I will also recommend this shop to any friends who ask.

Don is the best mechanic I've ever had. I took the car for pre-purchase inspection, and he gave me all the info I needed to make a smart decision. He was very honest about the cost it would be for me to make repairs ...and I ultimately walked away from a car I thought I loved, but would cost me a fortune! Thanks Don for saving me time and money. You rock. Ray is also excellent in customer experience. 5 stars to these guys -- !

Prompt, reliable and friendly.

Super nice and very on the ball. Brought in Audi A3 for inspection of noise and overall as we're selling it. Car returned with noise worse than when brought in (not sure how that could be) and temp gauge not working (was fine before). Brought car back after driving off. Everyone super attentive and offered a rental. Car left for the weekend. No problem as we have two other cars and are selling the A3. Overall I can't think of a better handling of the situation.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and reasonable too. My only complaint is that on two occasions, they promised to call me when they were done working on my car. On both occasions I ended up waiting a while and calling them, only to discover my work had been done for a few hours.

Don and his crew were very, very helpful. I had a mysterious and severe rattle on my truck and they were very quick to figure it out. When it looked like the repair was going to be more than I could afford, they scoured the city looking for a used part to fix my truck with. THEN, when the used part was installed and I drove it away, the problem continued. They were immediately on it. They determined that the used part they had found for me was actually damaged, so they had to find another one and replace it again. They did all of this as quickly as possible and with a friendly, customer-service oriented attitude. To make things even more difficult for them, they had to keep switching a 200 gallon tank that I use for my landscaping business from one truck to another. They did this free of charge and with good humor. Their prices were fair and the communication was fast and easy for a lay-person like me to understand. I will definitely bring all my vehicles to them in the future.
