Hands down the best group of mechanics I've ever been to. Don was nice, thorough, and 100% honest about every detail in his inspection report, no wonder the ratings are so high! These guys are doing everything right.

I can't thank you guys enough! I came in to Santa Monica Motors for a basic smog check, and you all really helped me out through the repair process to get a pass. I'm super impressed by how honest and helpful you guys are, how you are willing to go the extra mile to get things done efficiently, and how friendly you all are! It was awesome to get the smog check, repairs, and final registration steps/plates done in one location. What could have been a really stressful experience ended up being very pleasant and easy. Thanks Bob, Don, Ray & Harry - you guys are the best and I'll definitely be coming back!

I have only great things to say about Santa Monica Motors. I've been recommending them to my friends all over L.A. for years. They are efficient, fair, friendly, and explain everything clearly. The technicians at Santa Monica Motors are the best. They treat you like family. They are excellent technicians and truly care for each of their customers. They have repaired my car for years and I cannot imagine going anywhere else. I recommend them highly.

I've been taking my 2002 VW Cabrio to Santa Monica Motors for oil changes and repairs for five years. Being an older car, it has issues from time to time...stalling out, etc. Their honest, reasonable, and reliable service keeps me coming back, and makes me feel safer on the road knowing that if something does go wrong, these guys have my back.

Don is awesome! By far the most honest, straightforward, and generous mechanic I have ever met. When so many mechanics are dodgy, it's really refreshing to come across someone like Don. He's extremely genuine and honest.

As good as it gets. My car was making a funky, noisy sound, so I took it in for the guys at Santa Monica Motors to inspect so they could tell me what the next steps are. I was working with Don, and he had all the qualities you would want in a good mechanic (honest, knowledgeable, and kind). Before pricing me out for the repairs, Don called my car's manufacturer to see if this particular issue was under warranty --- which was nice of him to do and could have potentially saved me a lot of money. While I can't yet speak to the workmanship of this shop (they haven't done anything for my car just yet), I can definitely say that I'm extremely satisfied with Santa Monica Motors' service and people thus far. I plan on taking my car there for any future repairs/service work, and I will also recommend this shop to any friends who ask.

Don is the best mechanic I've ever had. I took the car for pre-purchase inspection, and he gave me all the info I needed to make a smart decision. He was very honest about the cost it would be for me to make repairs ...and I ultimately walked away from a car I thought I loved, but would cost me a fortune! Thanks Don for saving me time and money. You rock. Ray is also excellent in customer experience. 5 stars to these guys -- !
