I came here because a co-worker would come here. So when I needed to a headlight changed, they did it quick and affordable. I was out of there within 10 minutes.So because that was such a good experience, I decided to get a battery changed. I walked down the street to get some lunch and by the time I came back, it was ready. Eli is a very pleasant guy to work with and gets you in and out of there as fast as he can.I would recommend this place to anyone who is leary of mechanics. I think you can trust these guys to do right by you.

Called them up at 9 and told them I had a DMV appointment at 10. Brought it there at 9 30, it was done by 9 45 and ready to go. I was very impressed. Talk to Bob, friendly guy, he'll get it done quickly for you.

I just got back from my smog check, which was on Saturday around noon. I mentioned to the owner, Bob, that i read about him on Yelp so he gave me the $10 off right away. My total was $55. He was a super nice guy and very friendly and told me he had been there for 35 years!! He said he would make sure that i was done in a timely manner, no longer than 30-45 minutes. He also let me know that if i was hungry, the Lazy Daisy Cafe is right next door. I sat outside on the bench out front,because it was so nice out. They also have a clean waiting room inside with water and magazines. I was done in about 25 minutes. It was painless, i will definitely come back in 2 years when my next smog check is due!

I found this repair shop here on Yelp. I had the clutch master and slave cylinder replaced on my 1994 Honda del Sol. The job was very competitively priced and done with no surprises or delays. Karim Rawji and Eloy were helpful, honest and professional. I will be a return customer.

Freaking awesome! I came here on a Saturday at 11:45 pm and was done at before noon. Incredible! They are friendly, fast, and efficient. They won't try to sell you crap you don't need or take your money. And did I mention they're fast?! I swear I filled out the paperwork and made a short call and they were done!! It may be $5 or so more expensive than other places, but believe me, it is worth it!!

Excellent mechanics. Everyone very professional. Owner/manager is scrupulously honest, works with your schedule, very kind. They fixed an oil leak that I tried for years to have fixed. Even the dealer couldn't fix it, but these guys fixed it! Moved to South Orange County and still travel to Santa Monica for repairs/service. Fair pricing. No pressure. Everything is done even on my nearly 30-year old car.

Every time I go to Santa Monica Motors it's a better experience than I've ever had anywhere else. They are smart, kind, resourceful, honest, and affordable. The last time I went there I had a blown fuse and needed help replacing a spare tire/rim/cover that was stolen. Karim called 3 different places to price out replacement options for my stolen parts, and when they were all pretty expensive he suggested I shop around on Ebay and gave me all the info I needed about the parts. AND he didn't charge me for replacing the fuse. This shop is a wonderful find and I would never go anywhere else again.

I came here after a HORRIBLE experience at Honda of Santa Monica. I love, love this place and have come here twice now for my car. First the service is really personal. The owner cares about his community and is involved with the people around him and that includes his customers. He is always polished, nicely dressed and friendly. The mechanics are great and show me things on my car as they work because I don't know a ton about cars. But they are teaching me about my car. The prices are reasonable and cheaper than the dealership. They don't have a huge area to wait which is a downside but Virginia Park is right across the street so on a nice day (pretty much every day in LA, right?), you can go over there and read a magazine or eat lunch and relax outside.Go here, you won't be disappointed! Avoid the dealerships.

I called to make an appointment, but was told that their policy is "First Come, First Serve." The representative told me that one of the two garage spaces was open and now was the time to go. I left my office at the Santa Monica City Hall at 1:48pm. The drive to the shop at the southwest corner of Pico and Cloverfield took about 7 minutes one-way. I'm typing this in my office at 2:28pm. (Whoa, I just realized that this sounds a lot like an intro to those f'ed up LSAT problems with the question, "Who was sitting next to Bob?") Don't worry-- I can't do math either, so suffice it to say that they were fast and efficient. The moment I got there, an Asian tech told me to leave the keys in the ignition and go in the office to do paperwork. Once inside, a Latino tech accepted my $10 off coupon and quickly filled out a form. (The reason why I'm specifying ethnicity is because there are only three licensed techs at the shop. The third tech wasn't there at the time.) Then I sat down... for less than 20 minutes. Before the Asian tech told me that I passed, he'd already forwarded my smog check paperwork to the DMV. All I had to do was renew my registration online. The total, after the $10 discount, was $55 (testing fee plus certification docs fee). These guys had it so under control that I can barely remember anything about the office. They had me in-and-out fast! I hardly had time to finish reading an ESPN article on my BBerry. The place was clean; I remember that. Oh, and there was a Sparklett's tank in the corner and plenty of seats. I always go to auto shops with my guard up. I must have "Fuck Me" written on my forehead until I reveal my contact info. However, these guys gave me absolutely no b.s. and did their jobs quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend this place.
