If a car fails to pass, you charge the full amount again. As it was, I had to be smog tested 3 times and had to pay $800 for repairs. I did find another smog checker who charged me more fairly

Response from Santa Monica Smog Check & Star Station - Cynthia, we actually charge $24.95 for the retest, if for some reason you were charged incorrectly please stop in with your invoices and we will be glad to issue a credit. The retest price is printed on the invoices and on our signs.
