Came here for repair when emissions failed-They called around to find a part for our SUV and fixed the problem quickly. The price was a bit higher than other shops in the area, but still in the range of competitive and due to their honesty and helpfulness, I felt ok about the tad bit higher cost. Also, work is guaranteed and I like that fact. The friendliness and clean shop was also great! : And if you need emissionssmog testing, the guys next to them are great!

Good place. Not sure what Andrew E's beef was. Found this place thru a google search and saw a few reviews from either google or other sites on search. It was one of three places that I tried to call. The first place gave me the price, including certificate etc. Plus Tax. Called this place, SM Smog & Test. Got a fax signal. Hung up. Was dialing 3d place when SM Smog & Test called me back. Arsen, yes that's his name, gave me the quote. Including tax. They were nearby, I went. They did a good job and answered the couple questions I had (like is my score good or just barely passing -- since this was on an oooold but solid car). I recommend them.

After a horrible experience at Crestview Service, my day turned 180 degrees better here once I started talking to Karim, the owner. He was so nice, patient and professional. I don't know anything about cars, so I had a lot of questions for him. He was always willing to explain everything to me. I had to leave my car there overnight for them to diagnose the cause of a noise that only happens when starting the car in cool weather. Although they couldn't hear it the next morning, when I picked up my car, I thought I heard it again. When I signaled this to him, Karim dropped everything he was doing in his office and jumped in the car to do a test drive with me. But the noise was gone again. I apologized for wasting his time, but he said only the owners of cars know the best about their cars because they drive them every day. I have to go back in the winter to let them have a better chance to catch the noise, but I'm just glad that Karim will be there to listen.

Fast, friendly service, knowledgeable staff and terrific attention to the customer.My car was making a rattling noise, and I had recently driven across the country to SM...unsure what was going on, I took it into Santa Monica Motors, which happened to be the first Honda repair listed on google search. I waited only a few minutes while they looked at the car, then they took me out to see the underbody I've never had a mechanic actually show me what was going on before - it was great. Karim, the owner, explained what was happening - the rattling was coming from a part which was loose. Specifically, the heat shield above the catalytic converter and I actually know what that is now, what it does, and what it looks like thanks to his explanation!. Both Karim and the mechanic I'm sorry I don't know his name gave me some options, and found an easy, simple and effective solution. No noise now!!!I would absolutely recommend this place and plan to go there for my smog check coming up, as well as any other car maintenance or repair that I need.

I came here because a co-worker would come here. So when I needed to a headlight changed, they did it quick and affordable. I was out of there within 10 minutes.So because that was such a good experience, I decided to get a battery changed. I walked down the street to get some lunch and by the time I came back, it was ready. Eli is a very pleasant guy to work with and gets you in and out of there as fast as he can.I would recommend this place to anyone who is leary of mechanics. I think you can trust these guys to do right by you.

Called them up at 9 and told them I had a DMV appointment at 10. Brought it there at 9 30, it was done by 9 45 and ready to go. I was very impressed. Talk to Bob, friendly guy, he'll get it done quickly for you.

I just got back from my smog check, which was on Saturday around noon. I mentioned to the owner, Bob, that i read about him on Yelp so he gave me the $10 off right away. My total was $55. He was a super nice guy and very friendly and told me he had been there for 35 years!! He said he would make sure that i was done in a timely manner, no longer than 30-45 minutes. He also let me know that if i was hungry, the Lazy Daisy Cafe is right next door. I sat outside on the bench out front,because it was so nice out. They also have a clean waiting room inside with water and magazines. I was done in about 25 minutes. It was painless, i will definitely come back in 2 years when my next smog check is due!

I found this repair shop here on Yelp. I had the clutch master and slave cylinder replaced on my 1994 Honda del Sol. The job was very competitively priced and done with no surprises or delays. Karim Rawji and Eloy were helpful, honest and professional. I will be a return customer.

Freaking awesome! I came here on a Saturday at 11:45 pm and was done at before noon. Incredible! They are friendly, fast, and efficient. They won't try to sell you crap you don't need or take your money. And did I mention they're fast?! I swear I filled out the paperwork and made a short call and they were done!! It may be $5 or so more expensive than other places, but believe me, it is worth it!!

Excellent mechanics. Everyone very professional. Owner/manager is scrupulously honest, works with your schedule, very kind. They fixed an oil leak that I tried for years to have fixed. Even the dealer couldn't fix it, but these guys fixed it! Moved to South Orange County and still travel to Santa Monica for repairs/service. Fair pricing. No pressure. Everything is done even on my nearly 30-year old car.
