Walked in without an appointment, they took my car right away. Filled out registration papers while smog check was being done. Got my tags and registration immediately after the smog check, in n out in under an hour and didn't even have to go to the dmv.I'd definitely recommend anyone go here. Ask for Bob or Harry, both are excellent humans and totally made my day.

Still blown away. They really care about their customers and are super friendly. Will be back again and again. :-)

I was in town helping my son with medical issues and needed to get a smog check and the breaks checked. I was leaving town before they had an opening and when I explained the situation they made room for me to bring the car in the next day. I really felt they were extremely honest, and cared about my situation.

Great Personal Service, Great Communication, repairs always discussed - if I have more time and money we discuss what can be done, if I need to do just the minimum that is heard and understood. Very happy this place has kept my 16 year old Subaru Forester running like a top for many years.

Quick, easy, painless. I got here just before 8 on a Saturday morning for a smog check and was the first customer waiting - the manager showed up a few minutes after 8. The next customers didn't appear until 8:15. I was out of there by 8:30 and there were at least another 3-4 customers by then, so it paid to be early. $10 off with a Yelp check-in or printed coupon from their website - normal price for a smog check is just under $70.

Long story short, I had a huge undertaking spanning multiple weeks and the guys at Santa Monica Motors not only handled it efficiently but with a smile to boot. Could easily have been a huge drag about it and I wouldn't have even blamed them but every interaction was 100% class. Would recommend.

This is the BEST motor repair place. Don't bother taking the risk elsewhere. This place is HONEST, QUICK, RELIABLE. Not only did I get the 3 or 4 jobs done quickly, perfectly and cheaper than I expected, but Don (legend who works there), went above and beyond to help me get the SUV I was driving fixed and looking to buy, but when the deal fell thru, he hooked me up with reliable people to get my next car, for UNDER $3k. When I got stung by a cowboy for $400 to fix a broken window mechanism that he didn't fix properly, Don said he'd do the job for that money with actual Ford parts. When I got a ticket for a back brake light and expired tags, on the SUV I didn't own, he suggested I challenge that bc it wasn't my car (I was doing the owner a favor as he's out of state, getting it smog tested before the 30 day grace period expired). I also got the $10 off deal, available here on Yelp. I can't say enough amazing things about this place and Don Yocum, in particular. So grateful to have found this place and won't go anywhere else, even tho I'm not in Santa Monica; I'm in Hollywood hills. Cheers Don!! Much appreciated.
