Just received such great service here! Pulled in to get a required STAR certified smog check done on my car in order to renew my registration, & they started immediately. I couldn’t find my registration renewal- they found it in their computer system by an alternate method. They provided me with a reasonable estimate - UP FRONT - & once I agreed to it & signed they went to work. In the meantime I had noticed my temp light going off yesterday & had checked my coolant level- only to find it was practically bone dry. I went inside & told the gentleman attending to Santa Monica Motors customers about the issue & asked if they could fix that for me after my Smog Check (as Santa Monica Motors is a separate business but attached to the Smog Cert center building so they can work in tandem it seems). He said he was sure they could & asked me a few questions- the next thing I know he comes in to tell me they had taken care of it, & that it’s already been refilled - FREE OF CHARGE. That’s correct…now when is the last time an auto garage gave you ANY service, no matter how small, FREE of charge? In addition to all of this, the entire process took less than 20 min., AND they electronically send the results to the DMV for you immediately. Plus the waiting room is clean & air-conditioned. And lastly, everyone from the smog certifier’s & the auto repair guys next door- to Brit working at the front desk- were all very polite & professional without being overly stuffy- a rarity I particularly appreciate these days as it’s getting more & more rare. Overall such a painless experience- & really feel like I have found another auto repair shop that’s honest & trustworthy to try out the next time my car needs a repair (as it’s bound to at some point.). I highly recommend them if you need a smog certification or just a decent auto repair center.
